About this collection

Established in 1939, the Pacific Coast Theological Society sought to respond to the need for critical inter-disciplinary and ecumenical exchange. Evolving over the years, this mandate has continued and expanded as the Society has engaged in topics such as the dialogue between religion and contemporary science, the interchange among a variety of faith traditions, and other issues of public discourse. The Society affords a rare opportunity for sustained, critical conversation among diverse theological perspectives. The organization is based in Berkeley, California, and associated with the Graduate Theological Union.
